Undergraduate Scholarships Western Michigan University's Department of Political Science grants several scholarships each year to our best students and announces the winners of its awards and scholarships at the honors luncheon in April of each year. Howard Wolpe Scholarship Established by Congressman Howard Wolpe to support the study of politics. Amount and Duration of Award The amount of the award is up to $1,000 for the academic year.

Eligibility

This annual award is given to a student who:Is a political science senior.Is a U.S. citizen (preferably a resident of Michigan).Demonstrates overall academic excellence at WMU, especially in political science. All applicants must have earned at least 60, but no more than 105 credit hours, credit hours toward an undergraduate degree in political science.  You must be a major or graduate student in political science.Selection Students must have demonstrated overall academic excellence at Western Michigan University and, in particular, political science and a commitment to use the scholarship support to engage in the study of Africa or selected African nations.
