Overview

For over 50 years, Keep North Carolina Beautiful has operated a financial grant process that is open to any K-12 educational organization and/or 501(c)3 organization with programming that educates the youth of the state of North Carolina; in particular, positively impacting students environmental sustainability knowledge with specific projects in outdoor learning environments. Over the course of that time, these financial "Window of Opportunity" (WOO) grants have touched educational organizations within all 100 counties in the state of North Carolina. It is Keep North Carolina Beautiful's goal to impact organizations with a WOO Grant in all 100 counties across the state, in the same calendar year. The WOO Grants are for beautification, replenishment and recycling projects that educate the youth of North Carolina on the impacts of preserving and enhancing our state’s environmental sustainability. The funds are meant to provide resources for materials critical to the learning project/environment and are intended to provide hands-on learning opportunities for students. Keep North Carolina Beautiful operates a financial grant process annually that is open to any 501(c)3 organization in the state of North Carolina that educates our state's youth with regard to our environment and sustainability. The grants are for outdoor classroom learning projects that enhance the beautification of campuses throughout NC, along with replenishment and recycling projects that educate the youth of North Carolina on the impacts of preserving and enhancing our state’s environmental sustainability. The Window of Opportunity (WOO) Grants begin at $1,000 each with a maximum of $2,500.
