William C. Becker Lawyers Fund

The William C. Becker Lawyers Fund of the Akron Bar Foundation provides financial assistance to lawyers and members of their immediate families who, because of age, illness or other circumstances find themselves in financial distress.

Purpose: The Fund seeks to ensure that its recipients have adequate housing, food, and medical care to the best of the Fund's abilities.

Types of Assistance: Financial assistance may include:

• Grants
• Loans without interest or security
• Paying advances to immediate family
• After death, advancing money to families, including the cost of burial

Administration: The Fund is administered by a committee of eight members of the Akron Bar Association, including the presidents of the Akron Bar Foundation and the Akron Bar Association.

Organization Status: The Akron Bar Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization and welcomes all donations made to the Becker Fund.

Confidentiality: The entire application process is strictly confidential.
