Eccles Charitable Foundation – a family foundation managed and directed by the descendants of its namesake – is dedicated to the continuation of his good works and the preservation of his memory. In creating his foundation in the early 1980s, Willard Eccles sought to improve the well-being of his fellow citizens not only in his home state of Utah but also in the surrounding Intermountain Area. Since its establishment, the foundation has contributed more than $40 million to non-profit organizations in Utah, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Colorado. While the foundation’s charter provides flexibility for it to meet wide-ranging societal needs and support a variety of non-profit organizations, its major areas of interest are education, preservation of the environment, social service needs, opportunities to foster the basic sciences, and addressing the challenges of providing healthcare for the underserved. In keeping with the wishes of Willard Eccles, many of the foundation’s current projects focus on the complex issues of healthcare. What We Support The Willard L. Eccles Charitable Foundation is a family foundation dedicated to the health and well being of the land and people of Utah and the Intermountain West. This mission is accomplished primarily through its support of non-profit organizations addressing needs and opportunities in the areas of: Basic science, Education, Environment, Social services and healthcare for the Underserved The Foundation seeks projects with the potential to simultaneously impact more than one of its five core interest areas when ever possible.
