Wildlife Corridors – Nature Based Solutions Grant

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is offering the Wildlife Corridors – Nature Based Solutions Grant to fund projects enhancing ecosystem restoration and protection. With over $200 million available, this initiative supports connectivity projects that align with the State Wildlife Action Plan. Eligible applicants include tribes, nonprofit organizations, and public agencies, aiming to foster multi-benefit, nature-based solutions for wildlife corridors and habitat connectivity.

NOTE: CDFW is now accepting concept proposals on an ongoing basis for its Restoration Grant Programs.
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is excited to announce new funding opportunities for multi-benefit ecosystem restoration and protection projects through the Watershed Restoration Grants Branch. Under this call for restoration and enhancement projects, over $200 million will be available, including grant funding beginning in 2022.
Funding to support connectivity projects that advance multi-benefit and nature-based solutions, consistent with the State Wildlife Action Plan here, the California Wildlife Barriers Report here, and the Fish Passage Annual Legislative Report here.

Eligibility

Unless otherwise limited by the funding sources or individual program guidelines, eligible applicants for funding include: Tribes, nonprofit organizations and public agencies.

Ineligibility

Other entities that are not eligible to apply for funding to the programs may work as subcontractors for an eligible applicant.
