Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) entities serving these areas, while requests for general operating expenses or capital campaigns are not considered.

Overview

WestPoint Fund In 2005, the WestPoint Fund was created as a Donor Advised Fund at the Community Foundation of the Chattahoochee Valley, Inc. The Community Foundation administers the Fund, and all grant requests are reviewed by an independent local advisory committee. Funding Priorities Serve children in grades K-12 (Note: It is not required that the program or project serve all ages, but the target audience should be in this range.)Provide experiences that are inspirational and have the potential to expand a student’s thinking and/or worldview.Be unique in that they are not being duplicated in the community. For example, a new, unduplicated program or project OR a current/previous program or project that is only offered by the applicant organization.

Eligibility

Organizations that are exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and not a private foundation according to Section 509(a) may apply for grant support from the WestPoint Fund if they currently serve, or propose to serve, persons or communities in any or all the following areas:Lanett, Opelika and/or Valley, AlabamaLaGrange and/or West Point, Georgia

Ineligibility

The committee will not consider requests in which the requested amount is a small percentage of the total project budget. Examples of projects that do not align with the Fund’s priorities are:capital campaignsbuilding campaignsrequests for general operating expenses such as rent, utilities or increased staff capacityscholarship programs
