Wes Welker Foundation Athletic Equipment & Program Grants

Mission: The Wes Welker Foundation supports organizations whose purpose is to influence underserved youth by encouraging their full potential through athletics and positive role models.

Geographic Scope: Oklahoma City limits and Oklahoma City Public School District only

Eligible Applicants:

  • 501(c)(3) organizations

  • Educational institutions within Oklahoma City limits or Oklahoma City Public School District

    • Funding Focus: Athletic equipment, training facilities, uniforms, and support for school and youth sports programs including:

  • Weight room equipment and flooring

  • Protective gear (helmets, shoulder pads, etc.)

  • Sport-specific equipment (balls, goals, mats, nets)

  • Training equipment and devices

  • Cheer and dance equipment

  • Field equipment

  • Uniforms and apparel

  • Wrestling and martial arts equipment

  • Facilities improvements for athletics

    • Funding History:

  • Over $2.5 million distributed to Oklahoma City community

  • 35+ OKC schools and organizations funded

  • 18+ grants to non-profits

  • Consistent annual funding since 2007

    • Foundation Background: Established in 2007 by Lee, Sarah, and Wes Welker as the "83 Foundation" (after Wes' uniform number in San Diego, Miami and New England). Renamed to "Wes Welker Foundation" in December 2009.
