weGive365 Grants

Overview: weGive365 is a dollar-a-day giving circle that allows members to pool their money and make positive impact on the community through grants to nonprofits and community engagement. Formed in 2013 by community leaders and Rochester Area Foundation.

Mission: Unites and informs emerging philanthropists to make a collective impact on the Rochester area.

How It Works:

Membership: Minimum $1 per day = $365 annually per member

Fund Allocation: 50% of raised funds placed in grants pool; 50% placed in endowed fund to grow for future grants

Example: 50 members = ~$18,250 total; $9,125 allocated to grants

Decision Making: Members vote on which grant requests to fund and at what funding level

Grant Requests: Submitted annually to fund; members review and vote

Business Involvement:

Companies can encourage employee participation in collective giving

Employers may fully or partially match employee memberships

Smaller companies can sponsor one or two employees at $365 level
