Wawa Foundation: Financial Grants (Grants over $2,500)

The Wawa Foundation offers financial grants exceeding $2,500 to 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations in its six-state market, focusing on health, hunger, and supporting everyday heroes. Applications are accepted in January, April, July, and October, with grant requests reviewed prior to the next submission window. Eligible organizations include those working to improve lives through health initiatives, hunger relief efforts, and support for community heroes. The Wawa Foundation provides financial grants on a local, regional and national level ensuring that our commitment extends from the local communities Wawa serves. Only registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations operating in Wawa’s areas are eligible to apply. Organizations must fall into The Wawa Foundation’s three key areas of focus: Health, Hunger and Everyday Heroes. To learn more, review our Criteria for Success.
Our submission windows for grants over $2,500 will be the months of January, April, July and October. Qualified organizations can submit grant requests and Letters of Inquiry during those timeframes. Requests will be reviewed and organizations will receive a response before the next grant submission window opens.
Health
The Wawa Foundation will provide funding to organizations committed to saving and improving lives in the communities Wawa serves. Specifically, The Wawa Foundation will support organizations dedicated to Championing Life-saving Research & Care for People in Need by:

• Providing grants to hospitals with a focus on pediatric institutionsFunding researchSupporting care and comfort Initiatives
• Hunger

The Wawa Foundation will play a leading role in hunger relief in the communities Wawa serves. To achieve this, we will support programs that enable us to Lead Hunger Relief Efforts by:
Providing food donations to local pantries daily through Wawa ShareImproving access to food through financial grantsEnabling Feeding America Food Banks to reach more communities through annual in-store campaigns

Eligibility

The Wawa Foundation provides support to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations within Wawa’s six-state market area of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Florida and the District of Columbia. The Wawa Foundation supports organizations making a difference in our focus areas of health, hunger and everyday heroes.

Ineligibility

The Wawa Foundation does not provide grants or other resources for any of the following:Organizations outside of the three focusIndividualsPrivate charity or private foundationsGalas, program ads, or any marketing or advertising initiatives, such as signs or advertisingOrganizations not exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and not eligible for tax‐deductible supportReligious organizations, unless the particular program will benefit a large portion of a community without regard to religious affiliationPolitical causes, candidates, organizations or campaignsOrganizations whose primary purpose is to influence legislationSports sponsorships or performing artsAny commercial business purpose
