W.D. Pipkin Memorial Scholarship

Overview: A scholarship to remember W.D. Pipkin is given out to a Junior Exhibitor at the Ozark Empire Fair who is pursuing agriculture-related post-secondary education.

    Eligibility Criteria

  • Age: At least 17 years old as of July 31 of application year, and not more than 21 years old as of July 15 of application year
  • High School Status: Must be a graduating high school senior
  • Livestock Exhibition: Must have exhibited breeding beef cattle at the Ozark Empire Fair in the two most recent fair years
  • Educational Intent: Must intend to major in an agriculture-related field at a two- or four-year college, university, or trade school
  • Award Limitation: May receive this award one time only
  • Geographic Scope: Ozark Empire Fair exhibitors

    Award Use

    The winner of this scholarship may use the funds toward the following purposes associated with the pursuit of a post-secondary education:
  • Distribution: Funds will be distributed to the post-secondary institution upon proof of enrollment (copy of next semester's schedule) to the Ozark Empire Fair Foundation
  • Payment: The check will be issued to the student's college account

Announcement

The announcement of the Recipient of the scholarship will be made at the conclusion of the Open Angus Female Show at the Ozark Empire Fair (date varies by year).

How to Apply

Application Instructions

1. Complete the W.D. Pipkin Memorial Scholarship Application form
2. The completed application must be delivered or mailed (no faxed copies permitted) to the Ozark Empire Fair office no later than 4:00 p.m., July 1 of the application year
3. If using mail or other delivery service, applicant must send forms in sufficient time so delivery can be made by the noted time
4. Include official transcript

  • Documentation of breeding beef cattle exhibition at OEF in the two most recent fair years

  • Proof of intent to pursue agriculture-related post-secondary education

  • High school graduation documentation
