Vista Nova Grant Program

Geographic Scope: Greater Pasadena area and eastern Los Angeles County

Focus Areas: Services for visually impaired individuals, particularly those whose eyesight cannot be improved with corrective glasses or medical procedures

Background: The Vista Nova Renaissance Community was a 17-room home in northwest Pasadena that served blind individuals for over 40 years. It closed several years ago, and in 2016, funds from the sale of the property were used to establish the Vista Nova Renaissance Endowment Fund, managed by PCF.

Program History: Established in 2017, the Vista Nova Grant Program has distributed more than $117,000 in grants since inception.

Eligible Organizations: Nonprofits that assist visually impaired people in the greater Pasadena area and eastern LA County with compelling programs including:

  • Musical training and academic support

  • Orientation & Mobility (O&M) training

  • College transition support for visually impaired students

  • Early intervention services for infants and children with vision impairment
