Gloria B. Lee Scholarship Grant

The Gloria B. Lee Scholarship supports talented, at-risk youth from low-income backgrounds in pursuing undergraduate degrees in STEM or education. Recipients receive financial aid, academic support, and mentorship to help them successfully transition to post-secondary education and career paths. This program aims to empower students who face challenges due to poverty, fostering their self-esteem and academic achievement to break the cycle of disadvantage.

The Gloria B. Lee Scholarship Fund is a Committee Advised Scholarship Fund, created with a bequest from the estate of Gloria B. Lee. It assists at-risk students earning college degrees by providing financial and other support needed to help navigate and complete college. The scholarship pays for tuition, fees, and books for students who major in STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) fields or education, and stay on track to earn a bachelors’ degree within six years.
The fund also supports mentoring and coaching from informed and caring adults who can help the students navigate the complexities of financial aid and other private and government assistance, as well as tutoring, academic support skills, job search skills, and more.
Through this scholarship fund, PCF has been able to
Provide sustained funding for scholarship programs for students throughout Greater Pasadena.
Expand equitable educational pathways
Empower educational organizations to expand their services and reach more students in need.
Support flexibility
Allows PCF to direct resources when and where they are needed most, respond quickly to emerging needs, and fill funding gaps that restricted gifts can’t cover.

Eligibility

Students who are recent graduates or are seniors in the Learning Works program or LA’s Promise are eligible for consideration.
