Vision Through Music Financial Grants

The Children's Eye Foundation of AAPOS runs Vision Through Music, which provides financial grants to blind or partially sighted music students to help them access and enjoy music. Grants may fund tuition for instrumental/vocal lessons or the cost of a musical instrument and assistive technology.

Eligibility — any blind or partially sighted student who finds a teacher through the Vision Through Music teacher registry and begins lessons; for students under 18 a parent/guardian applies; adults must have experienced vision loss as a child; students 18 and younger are prioritized. Applications may be submitted at any time and are considered within 60 days. Award size: lesson-tuition grants fund up to a 26-week term to a maximum of $1,000; instrument/equipment grants will not exceed the item cost; approved grants must be activated within 90 days; renewal is possible by re-application.
