UTIC Scholarship Program

Funder: Undersea Technology Innovation Consortium (UTIC), Rhode Island

Status: Active - Annual program launched in 2023

Focus Areas:

STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) including:

- Engineering
- Computer Science
- Cybersecurity
- Information Technology
- Mathematics

Manufacturing-related fields

Emphasis on undersea technology focus

Purpose: Promote workforce development and education in undersea technology and defense

Award Details:

Up to $5,000 per scholarship

Up to 10 scholarships awarded annually

Total pool: Up to $50,000 per year

Eligibility Requirements:

Must be a matriculating undergraduate or graduate student

Enrolled in STEM or manufacturing field at an accredited U.S. college or university

Must be entering third year of study (or higher) in the upcoming academic year

Must be a U.S. citizen

Must not have been a UTIC scholarship winner in the previous year

Program History:

2023-2024: Second annual scholarship challenge held

2025-2026: 12 students awarded (6 undergraduates, 6 graduates)

2026-2027: Program continues with application deadline April 24, 2026
