United Way of the Columbia Gorge Annual Grant

Geographic Scope: Hood River, Klickitat, Skamania, Wasco, and Sherman counties (Oregon and Washington)

Funding Focus Areas:

Food insecurity

Eligibility:

Must be a 501(c)(3) human service agency or program

Must be located in service region (Skamania and Klickitat counties in Washington; Hood River, Wasco, and Sherman counties in Oregon)

Must have been serving basic human needs in the Columbia Gorge for a minimum of two years by the application deadline

Types of Organizations UWCG Funds:

501(c)(3) organizations in service region

Programs addressing basic human needs (food, shelter, emotional and physical health)

Community improvement efforts (youth outreach, education)

Types of Organizations UWCG Does NOT Fund:

Government agencies

Political parties, campaigns, or groups focused on influencing legislation

Capital campaigns or large-scale projects

Religious events or organizations with a purely denominational purpose

Pro-choice or Pro-life organizations

Organized sports teams

Review Process: Allocations Committee volunteers from Hood River, Klickitat/Skamania, and Wasco/Sherman Councils review grant applications and recommend fund distribution. Committee members review applications, hear presentations, and ask questions.
