Individuals who live in Fairfax County or City of Fairfax

Individuals who work in Fairfax County or City of Fairfax

Individuals who volunteer in Fairfax County or City of Fairfax

Individuals who attend school in Fairfax County or City of Fairfax

Must have applied to, been accepted at, or currently enrolled in an undergraduate academic degree program

OR enrolled in academic courses not necessarily part of a degree program

Evaluation Criteria:

Demonstrated academic achievements

Achievement or potential achievement in a library atmosphere

Letter of reference

Service Requirement: Individuals with no library experience who are awarded scholarships must complete between 10-40 volunteer hours (depending on scholarship amount awarded) in:

Fairfax County Public Library

Fairfax Library Foundation

Fairfax Library Friends group

Service must be completed before the next scholarship deadline

Program History: First awarded in April 2013; 169 awards totaling $220,419.57 have been granted
