Overview

NOTE: Prior to submitting a full grant proposal, it is recommended (but not required) that an applicant organization contact the Foundation via a concise letter-of-intent in order to determine the potential eligibility of the request. Tull Charitable Foundation Grant The Foundation's Trustees limit grant awards to charitable organizations based in the State of Georgia. The Foundation's Trustees prefer to make grants that will have a significant and lasting impact on an organization as well as its community. Priority is given to grant requests that: Are framed within the context of the organization's strategic plan and that result in enhanced organizational capacity; Enable the organization to expand its impact on important community needs; and Are cost-effective. Although multi-year grant commitments are occasionally approved by the Trustees, they are kept to a minimum. Most grant awards are based upon the Foundation's ability to fund them out of current year earnings. Funding Priorities The Foundation focuses its grant making on initiatives and projects that build nonprofits’ capacity to do their work more effectively and efficiently. We prioritize funding organizations that are intentional about: Working in under-resourced communities;Providing services/support to historically marginalized populationsAdvocating for under-served populations;Promoting racial equity;Building community assets that strengthen civic infrastructure. Types of Funding Support Typically Eligible for Consideration: Strategic initiatives that build the capacity of your staff, including administration and direct service staff. Capital infrastructure projects critical to achieving your organization’s strategic goals. Organizational partnerships and mergers designed to strengthen community impact. Requests for early-stage investment in new and emerging program models are sometimes considered if you can demonstrate your project’s impact and a viable plan for financial sustainability.

Ineligibility

The Foundation does not utilize fiscal agents to handle funds for organizations that do not have an IRS certification letter.Requests from organizations located outside of Georgia are not considered.Organizations Not Eligible to Apply for Funding: All-volunteer-run organizations with no paid staff.Private independent schools that have not previously received a grant from this Foundation (except for those that focus primarily on serving vulnerable children and youth).Charter schools that do not primarily serve Title I or otherwise vulnerable children.Individual public schools or PTA’s.Nonprofit hospitals that do not have as their primary mission providing access to health care to medically indigent persons, including the uninsured.ChurchesSports booster clubs.The Foundation Does Not Fund:annual program and operating supportfunds for an organization to decide how to re-grant to other organizationstickets to charitable events or dinnersresearchconferences or seminarssponsorship of productions, performances or special eventslegislative lobbying or other political purposesrequests to retire accumulated debtgrants or loans to individuals
