Transylvania Endowment Grants

The Transylvania Endowment Grants aim to enhance the quality of life in Transylvania County by supporting charitable projects. Grants ranging from $2,500 to $7,000 are awarded, with preference given to initiatives demonstrating significant community benefit. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) organizations, educational institutions, and religious entities. Each organization can submit only one application annually, and projects must be completed within one year of funding. Grant requests that benefit other organizations require endorsement letters.

The Transylvania Endowment (TE) seeks to improve the quality of life in Transylvania County by promoting charitable giving and supporting projects that benefit its communities and residents.
TE provides grants between $2,500 - $7,000 for charitable purposes. At its discretion, the TE Advisory Board may also consider grant requests for greater or lesser amounts. Requests that exhibit the greatest community benefit will be given the highest consideration.
If an organization other than the applicant will benefit from the grant, then the applicant should include a letter of endorsement from that organization.
Projects should be completed within one year of receipt of grant funds.

Eligibility

Grants are made to qualified 501(c)(3), governmental, educational, and religious organizations serving Transylvania County.An eligible organization may only submit one application per year.

Ineligibility

Grants generally do not support: scholarships;annual giving campaigns;endowment funds;debt repayment;sectarian religious purposes;partisan political purposes;festivals or one-time events such as exhibits, performances or fundraisers; oractivities taking place or expenses incurred before grant decisions are made.
