Training Grants

Overview: Foundation support for staff and volunteer education at credit unions. Training grants help credit union staff and volunteers improve their skills and meet their professional goals.

    Geographic Scope

  • Maryland and D.C.-based credit unions
  • Credit unions affiliated with the MD|DC Credit Union Association in other states

    Funding Details

  • Maximum Award: $2,000 per calendar year per credit union
  • Reimbursement Rate: 100% for credit unions with assets under $250 million
  • Reimbursement Basis: Training/tuition costs only (not travel or lodging)

    Eligible Expenses

  • Online, virtual, or in-person course offerings
  • Tuition reimbursement for approved training
  • Applicants may select their preferred training provider

    Key Requirements

  • Applications must be submitted in the calendar year during which training takes place
  • Reimbursements paid upon receipt of attendance verification
  • Applications should be submitted at least one week prior to training date
  • Applicant must explain how training helps serve members or community

- How does your credit union support the CU Foundation? (required) - Select all that apply:
- Annual appeal donor
- Special event/Wine Me Up! supporter
- Participate in Financial Literacy Month Campaign
- Display Foundation logo with link on website
- Do not currently support the Foundation

4. Grant Request Amount:
- Enter amount from 0 to $2,000 (required)
- Note: Maximum annual reimbursement is $2,000

5. Submission Timing:
- Applications should be made at least one week prior to training date to facilitate attendance verification

6. Verification:
- Submit proof of attendance after training completion
