Overview

Training Grants

Purpose: Intended to help care providers access training opportunities that would otherwise be out of reach due to financial limitations. Vital for personal development and improving services for orphaned and vulnerable children.

Types of Training Supported:

  • Organization-provided training delivered to beneficiaries

  • Attendance at external trainings provided by other entities
  • Target Beneficiaries:

  • Caregivers

  • Social workers

  • Management staff

  • Therapists

  • Others working with children
  • Eligibility Guidelines:
    1. Training must directly benefit the welfare of orphaned and vulnerable children
    2. Applicant must be an active member of the Thrive Collective for at least six months
    3. ACHF prioritizes training provided by local trainers in the native language of trainees
    4. Grants must be utilized within 6 months of approval
    5. Training should benefit more than one individual (directly or through knowledge transfer)
    6. Grant should not cover 100% of training fees; partner organization or other partners must contribute financially to demonstrate commitment and diverse buy-in

    What ACHF Training Grants Can Cover:

  • Training hosting (venue rental, simple snacks, sound, etc.)

  • Airfare/fuel/lodging for trainer

  • Training or conference registration fees

  • Airfare/fuel/lodging to attend a training event/conference
  • What ACHF Will NOT Cover:

  • Meals or daily "per diem"

  • Travel for grant recipient staff members not directly benefiting/learning from the training
  • Award Amount: Generally reviews/approves grants up to $3,000. Approval based on funds available, past reporting, demand, and other circumstances that may change year to year.

    Post-Award Requirements: Following training completion, recipients must submit mandatory report form including:
    1. Expense report upload
    2. Receipts upload
    3. Required summary of training success and how it will benefit others
    4. Statistical questions to quantify program impact

    Reimbursement Process: Typically set up as reimbursement; ACHF reimburses within 7 days of receipt of receipts and basic expense report.

    Geographic Scope: Mexico, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Zambia, Cameroon, Ecuador, Honduras, and Uganda

    Training Grant Application Process

    If you have reviewed the eligibility information and are ready to apply for a Training Grant from A Child's Hope Foundation, applicants are invited to fill out the application.
