Tier 1 Community Prevention Grant

Focus Areas:

• Early childhood (children birth-5 years old)
• Training for child care providers, teachers, and parents on brain development
• Developing healthy communication and social-emotional skills
• Parent support and self-regulation
• Prevention of child abuse and neglect

Target Population:

• Young children (birth-5 years old) and their families
• Families living in poverty
• Foster children
• Individuals experiencing homelessness
• Families with significant challenges to healthy child development

Purpose: Support programs that train adult caregivers and provide parenting classes to ensure each key adult in a child's life has tools and knowledge to create safe, stable, and nurturing environments both at home and in child care settings.
