Overview:
The THRIVE grant is a business development grant designed for established businesses wishing to relocate or expand into Walnut Hills. The grant is offered in partnership with Fifth Third by the Walnut Hills Redevelopment Foundation.

Geographic Scope: Peebles Corner business district, Walnut Hills

Award Amount: $3,000 - $15,000

Eligible Businesses Must:

  • Locate in the Peebles Corner business district

  • Be willing to commit to staying for three years

  • Have a business plan

  • Have three years of projected financial statements

  • Have three years of prior financial statements (if an existing business)

  • Have a signed lease (or ownership) of the space in which the THRIVE grant will be invested

  • Have a dream that just needs a nudge to THRIVE
  • Restrictions:

  • Funds may NOT be used for operating expenses
  • Additional Benefits:

  • Recipients may be eligible for other financial products to help their business THRIVE
  • Selection Process:

  • Applications are reviewed by the WHRF

  • A committee representing the Walnut Hills community votes on applications

  • Committee determines which businesses receive grants
  • Fund Use:

  • Recipients sign a contract detailing their planned use of grant funds as reflected in their application

    2. Work with WHRF - Find an empty storefront in the Peebles Corner Business District with foundation assistance
    3. Fill out the application - Download and complete the THRIVE grant application
    4. Contact your references - Let them know they may be hearing from the foundation
    5. Prepare for committee pitch - Be ready to present your business plan to the community committee
    6. Submit application - Return to WHRF
