About WCCF The Washington County Community Foundation (WCCF) was initiated by community leaders to encourage charitable giving. Its mission is to improve the quality of life in Washington County by promoting and facilitating philanthropy. Fostering philanthropy by offering charitable gifting opportunities to donors on an individualized basis and at reasonable fees, the Foundation makes charitable giving easier, more satisfying, and more effective. The WCCF is a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation organized under the laws of Pennsylvania. It is registered with the Pennsylvania Charities Bureau, and is a member of the Council on Foundations, the leading national support organization for community foundations. We are governed by a Board of Trustees comprised of local volunteers, each of whom has a long history of involvement in community and civic affairs. The day-to-day operations of the Foundation are performed by trained personnel with more than two decades of experience working in the charitable sector. The WCCF is approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development as an Educational Improvement Organization, a K-12 Scholarship Organization, and a Pre-K Scholarship Organization through the State’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program. The Foundation is bound by Pennsylvania Trust Law and adheres to 15 P.C.S. Section 5548 (c) with respect to a total return investment policy and spending policy with respect to all of its restricted endowment funds. Three Oaks Internship Grant To provide a monetary stipend to student interns who are performing services for the nonprofit: who are currently enrolled in an accredited course of post‐secondary educational study; and who qualify as an intern under the then applicable, state and federal laws and regulations. The Three Oaks Internship Fund was created in 2021 to provide grants to nonprofits located in Washington County, Pennsylvania, to provide a monetary stipend to student interns who are: Performing services for the non-profit; Who are currently enrolled in an accredited course of post-secondary educational study; and Who quality as an intern under the then applicable, state, or federal laws and regulations. In addition to the monetary benefit to the student, internships can provide valuable work experience for students, particularly when the internship is directly related to the student’s educational path. The Three Oaks Internship Fund was the first of its kind, providing a model for other WCCF donors who are interested in helping post-secondary students in a new and innovative way.Eligibility
