Overview

Note: Because the Howell Foundation is a small foundation that does not have an office or staff, a letter of inquiry is a good way to communicate to the Board. Therefore, the Board requests that a potential grantee send a letter of inquiry first before May 1. About The Thomas and LaVerne Howell Foundation is currently managed and operated by a Board of Directors composed of three people. These individual Board Members are Christopher J. Davis, Martin C. Davis, and Gary B. Pearce. Christopher J. Davis and Martin C. Davis are the Managing Co-Directors who handle the day to day operations of the Foundation. In late May or early June, the Board begins the initial process of considering and reviewing grants to be distributed in that calendar year. The purpose of a grant and the recipient is usually generated within the Board or Advisory Board. Some grants are considered based on preliminary information obtained from charities. Usually, all of the grants are distributed once a year to the chosen charities by November of each year. The Foundation also has an Advisory Board that provides input and suggestions for grants. The Advisory Board is composed of Maurcie & Jerry Moren, Jeaneal & Ron Dennis, Natasa Davis, Sarah & Bet Montez, Peggy & Craig Ansel, Becky Davis, and Debbie Pearce.
