The Explorers Club The Explorers Club is a multidisciplinary, professional society dedicated to the advancement of field research, scientific exploration and resource conservation. The Explorers Club is proud to support the scientific fieldwork of groundbreaking explorers around the globe — last year our grantees came from 6 continents and 24 countries. The Stephenson Explorers Advancement Program Awards will be $10,000.

Eligibility

You can learn more about this opportunity by visiting the funder's website. Open to college undergraduates/graduate students, and independent explorers under the age of 35. Must be conducting fieldwork focused specifically, on marine research.Each grant requires two written recommendations.How do we define Field Science for Explorers Club Granted Expeditions?Field science consists of expeditions that collect data in order to add to the scholarship, or knowledge in a given discipline, bound for peer reviewed publication. Relevant disciplines include, but are not limited to – anthropology, archaeology, wildlife, botany, earth sciences, marine and freshwater research, ecology, geography, paleontology.

Ineligibility

China RestrictionPlease note that The Explorers Club will not be able to consider research proposals for work being conducted in China or by Chinese citizens. The Explorers Club is considered a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) and we do not comply with the Chinese regulations regarding grant awards by NGOs at this time.
