About Us For over 30 years, Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee (CFMT) has been driving meaningful, positive change in our community. We do this by bringing together those who want to help and those who need help. The Sponsors Scholarship Fund For more than 20 years, through an all-volunteer effort, The Sponsors identified financially disadvantaged young people of promise through recommendations from a network of school guidance counselors and youth organization staff members. In that time, The Sponsors awarded more than $2.5 million in college scholarships to hundreds of students in Middle Tennessee and Allen County, Kentucky. It is the purpose of the Sponsors Scholarship Fund to continue George’s vision and the legacy of the nonprofit organization — The Sponsors Scholarship Program — he established in perpetuity through The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.
