Overview

The Societies for Pediatric Urology will sponsor an annual research grant of up to $40,000. The primary purpose of the grant is to promote pediatric urological research at the junior/mid-level faculty/attending level (MD, MD/PhD, or PhD) and to encourage SPU members to develop innovative and impact-creating research proposals in order to obtain more sustainable outside funding.

Pediatric urological clinicians in practice or clinicians and researchers serving within divisions or departments of pediatric urology Applicants must be members of the SPU or have member sponsorship.Clinicians and researchers not funded as PI's or co-PI's by the SPU, AUA UCF, NIH, DoD, NKF, VA, Hartwell, private or philanthropic sources, etc.Urologists and clinicians who have completed a terminal research degree or end of post-graduate clinical training, whichever date is later, within the past 10 yearsAssistant or Associate ProfessorsPediatric urology clinicianspediatric urology researchers You must be a member of this organization to apply for this award - become a member.

Ineligibility

Urologists and clinicians funded as PI or co-PI by the SPU, AUA UCF, NIH (K,R, U, etc grants), DoD, NKF, VA, Hartwell, private or philanthropic sources, etc. PI's or co-PI's of any grant that was funded from any source (intramural or extramural) exceeding $100,000Terminal research degrees or end of post-graduate clinical trainings completed beyond 10 yearsPostdoctoral fellowsFull professorsApplicants who will be a pediatric urology fellow after August 1, 2026 are ineligible.Research proposals exceeding 2 pages will be administratively rejected.
