The Pennsylvania Society Semiquincentennial Scholarship Award

Overview: A scholarship contest created in honor of America's Semiquincentennial (250th anniversary) with reimagined criteria for 2025.

Geographic Scope: Pennsylvania

Eligibility:

  • Current Pennsylvania public high school juniors (Class of 2027)

  • As of February 5, 2026, submissions are closed for the 2025 award cycle
  • Application Process:
    1. Complete an Initial Interest Form
    2. Top qualified candidates are invited to prepare and record a short video presentation

    Video Presentation Prompts (choose one):

  • Prompt #1: Discuss the significance of America's 250th anniversary to Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, or your own town

  • Prompt #2: Discuss what you believe will be important in the next 250 years of America's history

  • Prompt #3: Discuss your own personal involvement in celebrating America's 250th anniversary citing examples in your own area
  • 2025 Award Winners:

  • First Prize: Evon Kamel – Southern Lehigh High School, Center Valley, Northampton County

  • Second Prize: Elizabeth Palmer – Deer Lakes High School, Cheswick, Allegheny County

  • Third Prize: Jude Stulak – Downingtown East High School, Exton, Chester County
