The Optimist Award

Overview: This award recognizes a student who exemplifies the Optimist Creed for consideration for an award from the Optimist Club.

Selection Process: Members of the selection committee evaluate nominations based on information presented in the nomination form. The award is announced and presented at the Academic Achievement Awards Program.

Optimist Creed: Students are evaluated on how they demonstrate the following principles:

  • Being strong with peace of mind

  • Talking health, happiness and prosperity

  • Making friends feel they have worth

  • Looking at the sunny side of everything

  • Thinking and working for the best

  • Being enthusiastic about others' success

  • Forgetting past mistakes and pursuing future achievements

  • Wearing a cheerful countenance and giving smiles

  • Improving oneself rather than criticizing others

  • Being too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy for trouble
  • How to Apply

    Application Process

    1. Complete the online nomination form with the following information:
    - Your name
    - Your email
    - Student name (nominee)
    - Student ID
    - Specific examples demonstrating how the nominee exemplifies at least three statements from the Optimist Creed
    - Detailed situations showing alignment with each selected statement

    2. Submit the completed form through the online portal
