Overview

This grant supports junior tennis players between the ages of 8-18 who aspire to play collegiate or professional tennis, show significant promise, and demonstrate financial need to compete in sectional or national tournaments.

Geographic Scope: Southern California Section of the USTA

Eligibility:

  • Junior players ages 8-18
  • Show significant promise in tennis
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Aspire to play collegiate or professional tennis
  • Compete in sectional or national tournaments

Not Eligible:

  • Players over the age of 18
  • Players with low GPAs
  • Players with a track record of poor sportsmanlike conduct

Use of Funds:

  • Tournament fees
  • Travel expenses
  • Equipment

Application Dates: February 1 – 28, June 1-30, October 1-31

Notification: Within 30 days of close date

Important Notes:

  • Applicants may only receive one scholarship grant within a calendar year
  • Grant recipients are eligible to reapply 9 months after receiving funding and only after submitting a final report
  • Priority is given to juniors whose families can show financial need
