Program Background: Since 2017, The Gordon Parks Foundation has awarded two annual $25,000 fellowships to artists working in a variety of fields and mediums. The program is inspired by Gordon Parks' own experience receiving the Julius Rosenwald Fellowship in 1942 ($1,800, equivalent to ~$35,000 today), which enabled him to move to Washington, D.C. and apprentice under Roy Stryker at the Farm Security Administration for one year.
