Our Mission Bringing History to Light Through the Science of Shipwrecks The Institute of Nautical Archaeology is committed to locating, excavating, recording, preserving, and publishing shipwrecks and other archaeological sites of maritime significance all over the world. The George and Ann Bass Endowment for Nautical Archaeology Publications The George and Ann Bass Endowment for Nautical Archaeology Publications, established in 2018, honors two of INA’s Founders and supports a cause that is very close to their hearts: the final publication of archaeological material excavated by INA. This Endowment provides up to $25,000/year in grant money to one or two worthy applicant(s). Awards are intended to support the preparation of manuscripts leading to book-length publications of archaeological research conducted legally and ethically.
