About Us The Genetics Society, established in 1919 by William Bateson and Edith Rebecca Saunders, is one of the world's oldest learned societies dedicated to the study of genetics. Its mission is to promote research, teaching, and public understanding of genetics. The Society organises scientific meetings, supports various special interest groups, and publishes the journal Heredity. Membership includes over 2,000 professionals, encompassing researchers, educators, and students. Through grants, lectures, and public engagement initiatives, the Genetics Society fosters advancements in genetic science and its applications. Training Grant Purpose: Sponsorship of genetic themed meetings not organised directly by the Genetics Society.
