Summary

The Genetics Society offers the Junior Scientist Conference Grant Award to support early-career members' attendance at genetics conferences. This grant, up to £300, is available for UK-based and non-UK-based junior scientists, enabling them to present their research through talks or posters. The program aims to enhance networking and professional development within the genetics community, fostering collaboration and innovation in genetic research.

Overview

About Us The Genetics Society is a registered charity and was founded in 1919 as the world’s first society devoted to the study of the mechanisms of inheritance. It is also one of the world's oldest "learned societies". Famous founder members included Edith Rebecca Saunders, William Bateson, JBS Haldane and AW Sutton. The Society is run by an elected committee comprising entirely volunteers from the scientific community. Genetics Society Membership includes over 2,000 of the UK's active professional geneticists, including teachers, researchers and students and is open to anyone with an interest in genetic research or teaching, or in the practical breeding of plants and animals. Junior Scientist Conference Grants The purpose of these grants is to support the attendance of Genetics Society “junior scientist” members at conferences on research in Genetics. The scheme has three main streams: (A) to support attendance at meetings organised directly by the Genetics Society or sponsored by the Society as a Special Interest Group (SIG);(B) to support attendance at non-Genetics Society meetings; and (C) to support attendance of virtual conferences. (C) Registration costs for (non-Genetics Society) virtual meetings. The virtual conference grant is available to: UK-based members to enable attendance at a genetics-related virtual conference based either in the UK or elsewherenon-UK-based members to attend a UK-based Genetics related virtual conference
