Who We Are The Community Foundation is a devoted advocate for the vitality and well-being of the Rappahannock River Region. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that manages and distributes charitable giving in the counties of Stafford, Spotsylvania, King George, and Caroline, and the City of Fredericksburg. For more than 25 years, our donors have made a significant positive impact by establishing over 200 funds that collectively give over $2,300,000 each year to local nonprofits, churches and schools. Generous individuals, families and businesses give through the foundation to shelters, clinics, museums, habitats and much more. The Community Foundation promotes greater philanthropy by addressing the challenges faced by donors in a responsible and knowledgeable manner. We distinguish ourselves from other local charities by providing efficient and effective services to build a collection of permanent funds. Foundation Values The Community Foundation’s stated organizational values reflect qualities that are found in the most promising grant proposals. These qualities are not used as the sole deciding factors, but proposals that demonstrate these qualities will be considered most competitive. These projects show sustainability, fiscal prudence and integrity.Inspiration:Projects that creatively inspire collective effort and positive action.
