The Dollie Lane Harp Memorial Scholarship Fund for Classical Music Grant

The Dollie Lane Harp Memorial Scholarship Fund for Classical Music, established by Ruth Harp Gibson, honors her mother’s legacy through music. This scholarship is available for students majoring in classical music at accredited U.S. universities or conservatories. Eligible candidates include graduating seniors from specific Texas high schools who have participated in music during their studies. Awards range from $500 to over $5,000, with payments made directly to educational institutions.

The Community Foundation of Abilene is home to more than 150 scholarship funds. Through the generosity of our donors, the Foundation is privileged to offer scholarships to graduating high school seniors, currently enrolled undergraduates, graduate students, non-traditional students, and those pursuing trade certifications.
The Foundation’s scholarship process provides students access to scholarships with awards ranging from $500 to more than $5,000.
The Dollie Lane Harp Memorial Scholarship Fund for Classical Music
This scholarship was established by Ruth Harp Gibson in honor of her mother Dollie Lane Harp. Through this scholarship Mrs. Harp’s love of music will live on.
Scholarship award payments are sent directly to the educational institutions in August (fall semester) and, if applicable, in January (spring semester).

Eligibility

Plan to major in classical music at a university or conservatory in the U.S. that offers a degree in music with an emphasis in the classics Graduating senior from Abilene High, Blackwell High, Cooper High, Highland High, Jim Ned High, Merkel High, Roscoe High, Sweetwater High, Trent High, Wylie High Participated in music in high school
