Overview

About Us The Children's Trust is a dedicated source of revenue derived from property taxes, established by voter referendum in 2002. Our mission is to partner with the community to plan, advocate for and fund strategic investments that improve the lives of all children and families in Miami-Dade County. We envision a community that works together to provide the essential foundations to enable every child to achieve their full potential… Because All Children Are Our Children. Community Engagement Community Engagement and Outreach grants provide community partners with an opportunity to seek funding for existing programs, advocacy efforts or events that support children and families in Miami-Dade County as well as the mission and values of The Children's Trust. Direct Service and Program Enhancements.Promotion of Citizen Engagement, Advocacy, and Leadership. The Community Engagement Fund is a noncompetitive opportunity that provides community partners not directly funded by The Children’s Trust the opportunity to seek funding for programs that support communities as well as children and their families in Miami-Dade County. In accordance with the procurement policy, section 2010, Community Engagement Fund Policy. Direct Service Program Enhancement This funding is to provide enhancement to existing programs that provide direct services to children/youth. It is highly encouraged that the service to be addressed be demonstrated as a high-need or overlooked population, a necessary service in which barriers exist, or some physical/safety factor prevents access. This grant is for organizations that are not currently funded for direct services by The Children's Trust. Providers are not eligible if they currently receive other funding from The Children's Trust, with the exception of Capacity Building (Small CBO) grants and the Innovation Fund. Only one of these grant awards will be made to an organization during the fiscal year and there can be no duplication of participants between programs with similar scopes of services. (i.e., two summer camp programs cannot serve the same participants at one site). The typical grant award is expected to be less than $20,000.00. Promotion of Citizen Engagement, Advocacy, and Leadership This funding is to support collaborative community projects with the intent to develop and/or operate in partnerships that promote citizen-led engagement, advocacy, and governance. This funding does not support direct services to children. This grant is for organizations that are not directly funded by The Children's Trust. Applicants are not eligible if they receive any other funding from The Children's Trust outside of Capacity Building (Small CBO) grants and the Innovation Fund.
