The Besch Fund - Student Life Funds

  • The Lion Foundation provides each school an annual grant from the Besch Fund

  • Funds can be used at the discretion of the principal

  • Beginning balance of $1,000 is replenished at the start of each school year
  • History:

  • Earl Besch (1926-2015) was known for his generosity to others and regularly reached out to schools to help families in need

  • In 2015, his family established a memorial fund to continue his legacy

  • In 2025, The Lion Foundation board renamed the fund simply "The Besch Fund" to honor Nancy Besch's outstanding legacy
