History:
- Earl Besch (1926-2015) was known for his generosity to others and regularly reached out to schools to help families in need
- In 2015, his family established a memorial fund to continue his legacy
- In 2025, The Lion Foundation board renamed the fund simply "The Besch Fund" to honor Nancy Besch's outstanding legacy
