The Bargain Box of Hilton Head Grant

The Bargain Box of Hilton Head Grant, established in 1965, supports Beaufort County non-profits with cash grants derived from store sales. Operating as a 501(c)(3), it has contributed over $15.3 million to local charities, aiding in community activities related to education, health, and safety. Organizations must meet eligibility criteria, including having an active Board of Directors and a community focus. The grant fosters local engagement and supports a diverse array of charitable efforts.

The Bargain Box has continued to grow, becoming an Island institution that has returned over $15.3 million in to the community.
Grant Program
The Bargain Box Board of Governors, at its discretion, each year donates the net proceeds from the sales in its store to qualified Beaufort County charitable agencies (non-profits) in the form of cash grants.

Eligibility

An organization qualifying for a grant must meet the following criteria:Be a 501(c)(3) organization operating in Beaufort County, SCHave an active Board of DirectorsBe involved in worthwhile local community activities related to education and youth, health and safety, hunger and housing, or recreation.Only one (1) application per organization will be considered during each grant period.

Ineligibility

Grants will not be made to: private individualsnational fundraising campaignsan organization with their own business (e.g., thrift store) that is deemed to compete with The Bargain Box any requests not accompanied by the official application and documentation
