The Andrew Lloyd Webber Initiative: University Scholarships The American Theatre Wing is committed to fostering a future generation of theatre makers that reflects the diversity and dynamism of America as a whole. Now in their 8th year, the Wing's Andrew Lloyd Webber University Scholarships provide resources and support to rising high school seniors from populations historically underrepresented in the theatre industry who demonstrate exceptional talent and have economic need, lacking financial resources to attend college to study a discipline in theatre. Students can apply for an annual scholarship of $10,000 to study ANY aspect of theatre from stage management to arts administration, design to performance, and more, providing opportunities for all to pursue their dreams of a career in the theatre both on and off the stage. The Wing is dedicated to bridging the gap between talent and opportunity while uplifting scholars through every step of their journey as theatre-makers. General Guidelines ALW University Scholarships are awarded to cover tuition fees at an accredited private or public university in the United States. Each of our scholars will be provided with scholarships of $10,000 a year, renewable for four years ($40,000 total).Eligibility

High school students graduating in Spring 2025 who demonstrate talent and ability in the theatre arts, but have a lack of resources to attend a four-year university program. The student’s area of focus can be from any aspect of theatre from performance, to design, to writing, to stage management, and others.Scholarships are renewable as long as a minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.0 is maintained. In addition, scholars will be matched with key industry players as part of a mentorship program. Scholars may also receive exclusive opportunities including participation in master classes, panels for career advancement, and much more.Ineligibility
