The Ali, Isabella, and Giselle Legacy Scholarship

Funder: Center for Arab American Philanthropy (CAAP), Abbas Family Red Wagon Fund

Background: Established by Tom and Rana Taylor to honor the memory of Issam and Dr. Rima Abbas and their three children Ali, Isabella, and Giselle, who were tragically killed on January 6, 2019. Rana is the sister of Dr. Rima Abbas and aunt to the three children.

Geographic Scope: Northville, Michigan - specifically for Northville Public Schools students

• Breaking down barriers through advocacy
• Access to healthcare
• Education
• Initiatives centering marginalized voices
• Promoting empowerment, equity, and healing

Eligibility

• Senior high school students at Northville High School
• Demonstrate commitment to community service, equity, inclusiveness, and kindness
• Must attend an accredited college or university

Award Details

• Amount: $1,000-$2,500 per graduating high school senior
• Distribution: Funds distributed directly to student's affiliated college or university once enrolled
• All colleges and universities must be accredited
