Funder: TRUE Community Credit Union (in partnership with Nuestra Comunidad)

Geographic Scope: Jackson and Lenawee counties, Michigan

Program Description: TRUE Community Credit Union partnered with Nuestra Comunidad to provide $20,000 in total scholarship funding for Hispanic and LatinX students. The check was presented to 2024 recipients during the Jackson Hispanic Heritage Festival on September 14, 2024.

Eligibility

• Recent high school graduate from a Jackson or Lenawee County school
• At least one parent of Hispanic or LatinX descent
• Enrolled in or planning to enroll in a 2-4 year institution, trade program, or apprentice program

Focus Areas

• Support for Hispanic and LatinX students
• Post-secondary education access (traditional college, trade programs, and apprenticeships)
• Community investment in underrepresented populations
