Overview

Tennessee Housing Trust Fund Competitive Grants (TN) THDA's Tennessee Housing Trust Fund Competitive Grants are awarded to agencies for the purpose of developing and/or preserving rental housing for low- and very-low income households, the elderly, and those with special needs. Examples of special needs populations include the disabled, formerly incarcerated individuals, victims of domestic abuse, and youth aging out of foster care. All housing funded through the Competitive Grants Program must be rental and address the housing needs of households with incomes at or below 80% of the area median income (AMI). Projects serving the rental housing needs of households with incomes at or below 50% or 30% of AMI are encouraged. Additional points may also be awarded to projects located in rural or distressed counties Eligible Activities New construction Acquisition of land upon which rental housing will be built Acquisition of existing rental units Rehabilitation of existing units Conversion of non-residential units to residential units Funding Proposals for funding in this Grant Round are limited to a maximum of $600,000 and a minimum of $200,000.
