Temporary Pop-up Patio Program

Geographic Scope: Downtown Dallas, Texas

Partner: City of Dallas

Downtown Dallas, Inc., in partnership with the City of Dallas, developed a program to assist local businesses during challenging times by allowing temporary use of outdoor spaces adjacent to business locations.

Purpose: Enable businesses to utilize outdoor parklet spaces on a temporary basis as social distancing requirements changed business operations.

DDI Support Provided:

• Design and permit help
• Payment of permit fees (OSE) on business behalf
• Loaning of furniture and traffic control devices

2. Permit Application
   • Applications are submitted through the City of Dallas Office of Special Events

3. DDI Support During Application
   • DDI provides design and permit assistance
   • DDI covers permit fees on applicant's behalf
   • DDI loans furniture and traffic control devices as needed
