Program Overview

TeenWorks™ is a youth engagement program that provides grants to support students in leading community service projects and volunteer initiatives within their schools and communities. The program empowers young people to identify community needs and develop meaningful solutions through their own efforts.

Example Project

One documented example of a TeenWorks grant recipient project involved students from The Swain School in Allentown partnering with nonprofit Joyful Giving to pack necessity bags for community members. Students worked with the organization to create "Joy Maker bags" containing essential items such as socks, shampoo, body wash, lip balm, and other items. Nearly 1,000 bags were packaged and distributed to multiple community organizations including Promise Neighborhoods of the Lehigh Valley, Operation Address the Homeless, New Bethany Ministries, Lehigh Valley Reilly Children's Hospital, and Community Services for Children.
