Overview

Sword and Spear Award

Overview: The highest distinction bestowed upon an undergraduate member in the Society. Awarded to one junior or senior who has done outstanding work for their chapter, campus, community, and Society.

Purpose

Recognizes outstanding contributions to the Alpha Delta Phi Society at the Undergraduate Chapter level. Highlights the achievements of members who have exemplified leadership and service to an extraordinary level within their respective chapters, often going above and beyond the call of Siblinghood.

    Eligibility

  • Current junior or senior
  • Fully-initiated member
  • Registered on the National Society's membership list
  • Each chapter and affiliate may annually nominate only one member
  • One member can be nominated for both Sword & Spear and Emerald & Pearl if chapter chooses

    Award

  • Amount: $500 prize awarded to the recipient's chapter in their honor
  • Presentation: Winner announced at annual Society Convention Banquet

    Timeline

  • Chapter nomination and application deadline: Typically late fall or early winter
