SVP Jackson School of Geosciences Student Travel Grant

The SVP Jackson School of Geosciences Student Travel Grant supports current students presenting at the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology's 85th Annual Meeting in Birmingham, UK, from November 12-15, 2025. Eligible applicants must be enrolled students, submit an abstract, and register for the conference. This grant aims to enhance student participation and facilitate collaboration in the field of vertebrate paleontology, promoting the discovery and conservation of fossils.

NOTE: The 2025 abstract submission platform is scheduled to open in April.
The purpose of this Society shall be to:
Advance the science of vertebrate paleontology throughout the worldServe the common interests and facilitate the cooperation of all persons concerned with the history, evolution, ecology, comparative anatomy and taxonomy of vertebrate animals, as well as the field occurrence, collection and study of fossil vertebrates and the stratigraphy of the beds in which they are foundSupport and encourage the discovery, conservation, and protection of vertebrate fossils and fossil sitesFoster the scientific, educational, and personal appreciation and understanding of vertebrate fossils and fossil sites by avocational, student and professional paleontologists and the general public
This program was developed to encourage student participation in the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology annual meeting.

Eligibility

Current student membership in SVP is required.Applicants must be Undergraduate/Bachelor students, Graduate/Master students, or Doctoral students that are enrolled at a recognized academic institution.First author on a submitted oral or poster presentation. You must apply for the award prior to receiving confirmation of your abstract acceptance due to decision timelines. Final award decisions will be announced once abstract acceptance has been confirmed by the Program Committee.Register for the conference once the registration system opens. Registration will be confirmed prior to final award decisions.
You must be a member of this organization to apply for this award - become a member. Current student membership in SVP is required.

Ineligibility

Previous grantees are not eligible.You will not be able to apply for the award unless your membership is current in the system.
