College Scholarships The Susan T. Buffett Foundation (STBF) has offered scholarships to college students in Nebraska for over 50 years. Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis to first-time freshmen entering college who live in Nebraska, graduate from a Nebraska high school (or GED) with plans to attend a Nebraska public college, and demonstrate financial need. There are a limited number of scholarships, so the Foundation is unable to provide awards to all eligible candidates. The Buffett Scholarship will automatically renew each semester for up to five years at a four-year college or up to three years at a two-year college if you continue to meet the scholarship requirements, or until you graduate, whichever comes first. Funding Award amount is based on the tuition and fee amounts at each public college in Nebraska and the maximum term (semester or quarter).

Ineligibility

You cannot reapply for the scholarship if you already applied and completed an application.The scholarship cannot be used at private or out-of-state colleges.You cannot accept the Buffett Scholarship and the following: Scott Career Pathway Scholarship at CCC, MCC, NECC, and SCC, Goodrich Scholarship at UNO, Nebraska College Preparatory Academy (NCPA) at UNL, Avenue Scholars at MCC, PKF Engineering Academy at UNL, Learn to Dream at SCC, and Kearney Bound at UNK.Additionally, you will not be able to accept any other scholarships that conflict with the ability to complete the requirements of the scholarship and/or Learning Community.
