Supercharge Washington: Battery Scale-Up Program

Overview: A 24-month pilot program designed to turn breakthrough battery and energy-storage ideas into pilot-ready solutions. The program is in development/fundraising phase seeking $1.5M to launch.

Geographic Scope: Pacific Northwest, with focus on Washington State

Focus Areas:

  • Rapid population growth straining the grid

  • Electrifying transportation increasing energy demand

  • Many promising local battery technologies stalling before deployment
  • Program Details:

  • Duration: 24 months (pilot program)

  • Target Companies: 10-12 early-stage companies

  • Partnerships: University of Washington Clean Energy Testbeds, tribal nations, utilities, workforce organizations
  • Support Provided:

  • Lab access and technical support for prototyping and validation

  • Mentorship from industry experts

  • Connections to deployment partners in communities and microgrids

  • 10-12 companies advance from early prototype to pilot-ready stage
