Summer Scholarships in Quebec Grant

The Summer Scholarships in Quebec offer American students a unique opportunity to study at Université Laval de Québec during the summer. Each scholarship is valued at US$4,000, covering tuition and living expenses for a four-week program. Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in French and provide proof of American nationality. Additionally, candidates are required to submit a membership fee to the Society of French and Francophone Professors of America (SPFFA) along with their application materials.

These scholarships are only awarded to students of American nationality to participate in a study program at the Université Laval de Québec during the summer. Any applicant for these scholarships must first become a member of the SPFFA. The courses last approximately four weeks (2 sessions: May-June/July-August). Each scholarship is worth US$5,000.00 intended to cover tuition and most living expenses.
Each candidate must compile a file and write an essay in French, the nature of which depends on the candidate's level, and enclose a check for $20 made payable to the SPFFA in order to ensure their membership within the Society.

Eligibility

Applicants must be:either students in years of undergraduate degree with a GPA greater than 3.00 who have followed at least two semesters of French at the level academic;either students in master's degree specializing in French or in a demanding discipline a solid knowledge of French;either French teachers in an establishment teaching primary Or secondary American.Applicants for SPFFA scholarships must include in their file proof of their American nationality or their “resident alien” status in the United States .
